Welcome to "2007 EZ Tadpole CX" page 1.

PARTS, PARTS, PARTS. . .

A shipped SUN EZ Tadpole CX still in the box.

... (August 13th, 2007) ...

The parts list:

2007 SUN EZ Tadpole CX, Black/Dark Green, purchased from J&B Importers (through Go Bent Bikes) Part # 68276 (shown here unpacked from carton.)

SUN Tadpole Rear Rack - Part # ?

SUN Tadpole Fender Set - Part # ?

The STEERING MOD parts list:

RANS "SWB" Steering Post & Handlebar unit, 18.5" tall, 19" wide at handlebar ends, 1" ID (1-1/8" OD) at bottom, x 5/8" OD @ Handlebar ends.

VOLAE Tube End Clamp, Shiny Black, 1-1/8" ID. This is a clamp for the bottom of the RANS steering bars.

TERRACYCLE "GlideFlex" Folding Steering Mechanism, 1-1/8" Clamp ID, 1" Steerer. This is a beefy unit. It's thick walled tubing and close tollerance machined parts.

DELTA Accessories Stem, MTB, 1-1/8" top part outside diameter, 5/8" OD bottom - but includes the slip-over 1" outside diameter (5/8" ID) expander sleeve for 1" inside diameter steering necks, such as the CX has.

Replacement upgrade Brakes:

FORMULA 220mm Brake Disk Rotors / Caliper Adaptors. . . 8.5" Diameter!!

NOTE: The Adaptors that came with them were for 220mm rear, but this is incorrect for the mounting tabs on the CX. I need "200mm rear/220mm Front" fitment adaptors.

The 220mm Brake Rotor > < with the 220mm Rear Brake Mount...

As you can see above, the caliper would sit too far out on the rotor to be functional.

The CX will need the slightly shorter "200mm Rear / 220mm Front" caliper mounting blocks:

Here's the Formula ONE "Mega" Hydraulic Brake Set - both side for the 'rear' length tubing setup. They are individually ordered - pre-built / ready to install and use. No further brake bleeding necessary! Just run the brake lines and secure them out of the way and so they are not kinked. I got two "rear" sets since the "front" set is too short to reach the bars from the brake location. The rear set is a tad too long, but that's quite OK. 'Rather be slightly long than too short.

Shown mounted with correct adaptor (200mm Rear)

Above is the very nice -widely adjustable- hydraulic levers supplied with the caliper set.

Changes in Gears:

I got my hands on a left over front crank taken off a Greenspeed GTO, it's a VEGA "Specialties TA" crank with 155mm arms. It has a 59t and 45t on 130mm centers.

Later I added a small 36t - 74mm sprocket where there are threaded holes for it - for ultra low gear.

This will go on with a Shimano MTB type "triple" front derailleur.

<images coming soon >

And I'm using a pair of Crank Bros. "Candy" wire cage pedals.

< Interbike 2003 !

I swapped the original 11~32 cluster and hub > for Shimano Nexus-8 geared hub with a 19t single sprocket with a matching trigger shifter.

For all those scientist and gearheads wondering about the "final ratios" and "stroke/inches". . . here's a chart I copied off my PC:

The chain is tensioned with a Rohloff chain guide - tensioner. It matches the Shimano hub's offset perfectly.

NOTE: The above chain slack is due to the front crank being on the smallest gear.
