My LITTLE Airplane: for a play named...

"Drowsey Chaperone"

Wenatchee's Riverside Playhouse

2011

The little plane started out as a mocked up costume plane made of cardboard and duct tape to get the initial design and size worked out. The tape was carefully cut, and the panels laid down to use as a template for this plane. I used left over 1/8" panel from another previous project.

Just finished 'skinning' the skeleton.

Simple flat strut framework with cut-out panels. I used foamboard for several parts.

Flimsy at first, but very solid after gluing the clost over the framework.

The red and white paint scheme.

Big Sister (in progress) and Little Sister (finished).

(above) Waiting do be 'flown' across stage at the beginning of the play.

(below) The actress and her husband show off the little plane.
