My BIG Airplane: for a play named...
"Drowsey Chaperone"
@ Wenatchee's Riverside Playhouse
2011
It got started here with the request of building of a "stage useable" fake airplane that had to be taken onto the stage from inside the 'shop' door, across the hallway, through a double door, and then on stage . . .
Building the airplane from scratch...
Yes, I know... SIX CYLINDERS?! I deliberately didn't do a five or seven cylinder engine, because the guy having the "dream" has no idea about airplanes. Get it? (giggle)
I used a moving base with a square of 3/4 plywood as a floor
to have a stable place for the actors to stand on.
. . . It worked quite well. :-D
Black lining for hiding the interior.
Putter, Putter, VVVVVRRROOOOMMMM!!!
FINISHED!
The builder (Liam) and his flying machine.
On stage minus the actors.
I also made the companion > 'mini-plane' < for the actress to wear!
